Shakinouts have had a fantastic 2009 from Party in the Park to supporting Shed Seven, being on the radio and in the Paper, to Mercedes choosing to use 'Are you happy!' on their website - also not forgetting the bands own amazing headline shows including the hometown show at the Cockpit in September to over 400 people.
So with 2009 done apart from a appearance on BBC Leeds on December 30th and the Shed Seven gig at Leeds Academy - The band wish you a very happy Christmas and a very lovely New Year and they will see you in 2010. Shakinouts new EP!

Shakinouts are currently just finishing off mixing their brand new EP which will be available by the end of the Year. The CD will include 5 songs and more details will be announced shortly. Samples of the new songs will be available to hear on this website and on the band's myspace as soon as they are finished. Songs include 'Your poor mother', 'Ten steps ahead' and 'Get up'.

Shakinouts invited to support The Holloways

Shakinouts working with Mercedes Benz

Shakinouts were asked in Setember to be featured on the official Mercedes Benz Car website. You can watch the video here. They chose the band to feature after they found the video to 'Are you happy!' on the Shakinouts website. Mercedes have had lots of very nice things to say about the band and the song and the band are very grateful to them for doing so! To watch the video they are talking about then navigate yourself to this sites video page. The song is also available now on iTunes for 79p.

Shakinouts single is out now to download!

Are you happy! (radio edit) - please download it now from iTunes. Priced 79p. Do it this week and let's see if we can get it somewhere into the indie chart. Download it and then join the mailing list. All people on the mailing list will be checked and anyone who purchases the song Are you happy! (radio edit) will get access to download 'Time you were told' for free! The easiest way to find the track is to go to iTunes store and search for 'Shakinouts, thanks!

Shakinouts Single Available to Pre-order Now!

Shakinouts new single Are You Happy! is NOW AVAILABLE pre release. What does this mean? You may ask..
Well, it simply means that you can order the single now for just 79p and on Monday the 7th September (Just after our single launch at the Cockpit) the single will be sent to you via email.
Buying our single through pre release means that you wont have to do it next week and getting it done now means you will have one thing off your ticklist at least. Right now the pre release is through ditto music, but will be live and available from iTunes from Monday 7th September.

Another VERY important point is that the track were entering into the charts is Are You Happy! (Radio edit) - Thats track number one on the page. If you wish to download the other two b-sides then thats great!

Shakinouts to support legends Shed Seven!

Shakinouts are very pleased to announce that they have been personally invited by English favourites Shed Seven to support them on their greatest hits tour at Leeds Academy on Tuesday 22nd December 2009. A few tickets at the 2700 capacity venue are still available from the usual outlets but they are selling fast. This is the final date of the tour and Shakinouts are honoured to be asked to play.
Don't forget that Shakinouts headline The Cockpit in Leeds on Friday 4th September and their debut digital single 'Are you happy!?' is released on Monday 7th September 2009. Watch the video for the single now on the videos page.

On Monday 7th September 2009 Shakinouts release their debut single 'Are You Happy!? plus the b-side track 'Fail you now'. It will be available from all the usual digital retailers. The video for 'Are You Happy!?' was made in Leeds and Scarborough in May 2009. The song can be heard now on the audio player on this page and you can watch the video if you click on the 'Videos' link at the top of the page. More details to follow.

Party in the Park Update

Shakinouts will be opening Party in the Park at Temple Newsam on Sunday, gates open at 12:15 with Shakinouts on stage at 12:50 so you'll need to get there early if you don't want to miss the act. The playlist comprises of a cover version of "Umbrella" and then Ten Steps Ahead, Time You Were Told and the new single Are you Happy. For more information visit the Party in the Park website.

Shakinouts Open Party In The Park!

On Sunday 26th July 2009 at 12.45pm Shakinouts will take to the stage at Party in the Park in Leeds in front of up to 70,000 people.

Watch Shakinout's New Video!

Shakinouts recently filmed the brand new video for their next single 'Are You Happy!?' due out in July 2009. The video is nearly 7 minutes long and was filmed on location in Leeds and Scarborough over the course of a week in May 2009. Shakinouts Once Again Back in the News!

Shakinouts have been busy recording new songs and filming a new video. In May 2009 the band featured once again in the newspapers speaking about their upcoming gig in Leeds at the cockpit on Friday 5th June.

New Shakinouts Video Coming Soon!

Shakinouts filmed their new video over the course of a week in May. Filming took place in Leeds and Scarborough. The video is for their new single 'Are You Happy!? which you can listen to by clicking on the music player on the right of this page - it's track number 2.

Shakinouts in Scarborough Press

Shakinouts were featured in the online version of the Scarborough Evening News . The article goes into more detail about the band and how they are headlining the first of the gigs called Coastlive, at Vivaz on June 21.

Shakinouts on BBC One - News at 10!

In Febrary 2009 Shakinouts were invited by the Yorkshire Evening Post to play on the picket line as they went on strike at job cuts. Since then the cuts have gone national and in March the protests made the main BBC news at 10 on BBC1 - you can watch it now here.

Shakinouts in the Papers Again

On Thursday 15th January Shakinouts were back in the papers talking about their upcoming gig at the Cockpit in Leeds on Friday 23rd January 2009.

Shakinouts Headline the Cockpit - Friday 23rd Janu

Shakinouts are playing the legendary Cockpit venue with support from their friends bands. Tickets are £4 and free entry is including into Leeds best pop indie disco afterwards - The Session! They will be hosting the after party. Tickets are on sale on the door and also from Jumbo Records and Crash Records in Leeds. The night starts from 7pm and will be recorded live for EL FM radio.

Shakinouts Back on BBC Radio

Shakinouts invited back onto BBC Radio Leeds. Shakinouts will once again be playing live on the radio this Thursday evening from 8pm. You can tune into the station at 92.3FM or listen online. The show will also be available for a week as a BBC listen again show. The show is hosted by Adam Pope and the band will be discussing the upcoming gig at the cockpit in Leeds.

Shakinouts in the Leeds Weekly News

Shakinouts appeared in the Leeds Weekly news in November 2008. The band were interviewed about there upcoming gig on 19th December at Leeds University (tickets on sale now) as well as their plans for 2009. A big home town headlining gig will be announced very soon for very early in the new Year. Shakinouts Live on BBC Radio Leeds

Shakinouts went on the BBC Radio's Adam Pope Unplugged show in Thursday 20th November at 8pm to talk all things Shakinouts and also a little bit about their links to the city and love of Leeds United Football team (accept the band's Matt Wilson who supports Manchester United). Shakinouts also played two songs live. You can listen again to the show until the 27th November. The band were also delighted to be used as part of the BBCs football music on Saturday when one of their songs was used alongside one of the games highlights compilations! Shakinouts in the Press Again

Shakinouts singers and guitarists Jamie Williamson and Matt Wilson were interviewed by a local Leeds newspaper, The Wharfe Valley Times this week in promotion of the bands upcoming gigs headlining the Spinning Wheel in Leeds (November 28th) and supporting The Farm at Leeds Stylus (19th December). The interview was done by the papers lovely editor Laura Bowyer.

Shakinouts in the Yorkshire Evening Post

Shakinouts once again were in the papers last week as the Yorkshire Evening Post's Richard Edwards interviewed the band's Ben Hope about their upcoming gig. Supporting The Farm in December at Stylus in Leeds. Richard always interviewed The Farms lead singer, Peter Hooton, who spoke highly of the band calling Shakinouts 'a young up and coming band!' - very nice of him. Shakinouts EP Secrets is on sale now in Jumbo and Crash in Leeds priced £3. Look out for these posters up in shops or being handed out as fliers in a city near you. We keep getting asked about where the band originates from so here is some basic info about us. Matt is from Wetherby, Ben is from Kirkstall, Jamie is from Yeadon and Alex is from Dewsbury. All born and still located in Leeds. The band formed due to a lack of things to do and a mutual love for great pop songs. More info about the band will be added on the site soon!
